Noa Essengue and Nolan Traoré invited to the “Green Room” for the 2025 NBA draft

Noa Essengue and Nolan Traoré invited to the “Green Room” for the 2025 NBA draft

This is usually a warning sign that doesn't lie. According to ESPN and its journalist Jonathan Givony, NBA draft specialist, 19 players have received an invitation to the "Green Room"* for the 2025 NBA draft. Among them, two French players have slipped into a list largely dominated by Americans: Nolan Traoré (19 years old, 1.91 m), from Saint-Quentin Basket-Ball (SQBB), and Noa Essengue (18 years old, 2.05 m) from Ratiopharm Ulm (Germany).

In May, the Dallas Mavericks had the surprise of landing the first pick in the 2025 NBA draft, where US sensation Cooper Flagg is expected. Behind Dallas, San Antonio landed the second pick (after the first pick in 2023 with Wembanyama and the fourth pick in 2024 with Stephon Castle, both voted rookie of the year). Then, the 76ers got the third pick, the Hornets the fourth and the Jazz the fifth.

The Green Room is the area in front of the stage where 20 NBA draftees will wait with their loved ones to hear Adam Silver pronounce their name and that of the franchise they will join next season.
